Cox’s Orange Pippin Apple

Cox’s Orange Pippin Apple is a very fine variety raised in 1825 by Richard Cox and grown commercially in the 1860s. It is an heirloom apple with an astonishing taste and aroma, which is slightly spicy with nutty undertones. The flesh is yellow-white, fine-grained, crisp, and very juicy. They are at their best when picked ripe, and eaten fresh. It grows best in cooler areas and ripens in Feb/March.
