Pyrus ‘Manchurian’ Ornamental Pear (Field Dug Extra Large)

$899.99

Pyrus ussuriensis

The Manchurian Pear tends to have a straight upright trunk and horizontal branches, making it the very best ornamental pear for pleaching. Pleaching simplified is growing a trimmed hedge on a tall bear trunk. Because of the Manchurian Pear’s growing habit, it easilly conforms to a hedge style planting. This is a very stylish way to block out the neighbours in a confined area, while allowing for a beautiful garden bed to be planted underneath.

Field dug – Large, approx 5m tall.

Product Description

Field dug trees are trees that have been grown slowly in a cultivated field then once they are dormant (not growing or after leaf drop) they are dug, and either have their roots shaken bare of soil (bare rooted) or their roots kept in a ball of soil and wrapped in hessian to hold the ball together. Field dug trees are known to have straighter, thicker stems and better branching habits than potted trees. Instead of waiting years, you can have your instant screening, avenue’s, or feature trees now!

Ornamental pear trees are fast growing, tolerant of most soil types, including heavy and poor soils, and best of all they come in a range of shapes and sizes to suit your landscaping requirements.
