Betula pendula ‘Silver Birch’ 6ft (Bare Rooted)

Silver Birch (Betula Pendula) are by far Melbourne’s most popular tree. They are easy to grow and if properly looked after, they will grow quickly for the first few years, with growth of up to 6ft per year.

In winter, you can buy Silver Birch trees bare rooted, and this means you get larger trees at a lower price that are easy to transport home from the nursery in your own car. They are generally half the price, or less, than you would pay in spring or summer.

Silver Birch are very attractive in all seasons with soft green lacy foliage creating dappled shade in the summer. In the autumn the foliage turns gold and in winter you have a brilliant white trunk with red hanging branches. They look very attractive when planted in a clump of three as a feature which creates a lush sense of the forest that works in even a smaller sized garden.
