Annuals are plants that will usually only live for one year or season, but during this time they will give a lot of full flowering and colour. They are easy to plant, inexpensive and look great when planted in mass, along borders, garden bed and pots. It’s worth knowing that many plants that are sold as annuals are actually longer lived in areas that don’t see hard winters or heavy frosts, like inner Melbourne. So you may see plants in both the annual and perennial (long lived) categories.
