Diospyros kaki ‘Fuyu’ Japanese persimmon
This Japanese Persimmon tree is medium-sized and has an upright, spreading habit. It is a heavy bearing variety, and produces large, flat, deep orange, tomato-shaped fruits without the need for cross pollination. The fruit is a non-astringent variety, so can be eaten while still firm. In Autumn, the glossy green foliage provides a beautiful display turning an array of reds and oranges. As the leaves drop, the vibrant fruit remains hanging on the bare branches becoming sweeter as they ripen.
