Syringa vulgaris ‘Belle de Nancy’
‘Belle de Nancy’ is a classic lilac with a soft lavender colour and strong scent. They make a wonderful feature plant, potted or as a garden filler.
Lilacs prefer part shade to full sun in well drained, slightly alkaline soil. They are relatively hardy but would benefit from decent watering, particularly in the Melbourne summer! They grow anywhere between 2 to 4 metres tall and flower in spring.
