Cercis chinensis
The Chinese Redbud or Eastern Redbud is a small deciduous tree that makes a wonderful feature. In late spring before the foliage appears, the branches are covered with mauve-pink flowers. The leaves are large glossy and heart shaped. Frost hard, and will grow in sandy and clay soils providing they are well drained.
