Lemon trees are one of our best selling backyard fruit trees. The ones we are giving away are nice and busy and pretty big for the 2L pot they are in. There are 3 of the most popular varieties to choose from: Eureka, Meyer and Lisbon.
Which lemon tree should I choose?
Here’s a quick explanation of “which lemon is which” out of the three available. These lemon tree varieties are the 3 most popular in Australia, and here’s why:
Eureka Lemon Tree: A bit ugly, a bit thick skinned, the Eureka is still a top backyard lemon tree, because it’s the one that produces lemons almost every day of the year. When you need a lemon, you know you can count on your Eureka.
Lisbon Lemon Tree: This lemon tree produces very high quality lemons with a thinner skin that are very juicy and are of high acidity. Once a year the Lisbon Lemon tree produces a prolific crop of fruit in mid winter to early spring.
Meyer Lemon Tree: The beauty queen of the three, lemons produced by a Meyer lemon tree are smooth and very thin-skinned and are not as large as the lemons from a Eureka or Lisbon. They are more attractive looking lemons, which could well be the reason why they are more popular at supermarkets.

In Store: Spend over $100 in store (or over the phone) and notify the sales or register staff which lemon tree variety you would like for only an extra $8.
